This book has so much potential (a dystopian world where women can only speak 100 words per day)- but the execution is so...meh. Bland. Trying too hard to be the next Handmaid's Tale or The Power. The writing and dialogues are too one dimensional, blatantly crude.

The plot is unclear since the beginning - why did the situation turn out into this? What's the background story? Everything seems so vague, except for the explanation about religious fundamentalism. It's oversimplified the complex situa ...more

4.5 Excellent! Possibly the most important fiction book I've read this year. Highly recommended.
