A little twisty and turny as the story progresses. The chapters are structured in an appealing way, each cheater told by one of four hate-able people. I kept wanting to get back to this book to see what awful thing the next despicable narrator would "say". ...more

A friend gave me this book in homage to our travels together last summer in Sicily. My memories of Siracusa were mostly of the city being unbearably hot during that record-breaking summer and escaping into the cool confines of a restaurant with some very good Nero d'Avola. We also saw some fabulous ancient Greek ruins. Regarding the book, it was interesting to read the author's portrayal of the city. It was certainly an appropriate setting for a spooky tale.
