2.5 stars. Decent story set in the "Sword of Truth" universe and focusing on Wizard Zedd and the creation of the boundaries. Interesting background for fans of the series but I would not start here if you have not read the first couple books of the series.

This book was very short, a fast read.
It's not entirely relevant to the entire series, but it does have some great history about how the lands formed and what types of magic were used.
The story takes you back to the First Wizard's time when he was younger.
The risks he took and why he took them, allows the reader to connect to this character even more. The wizard is indeed a powerful character, physically and emotionally. ...more

Neat little back story to the Sword of Truth series - gives a new view of Zedd and how the boundaries came to be. Very quick, fun read for anyone interested in Goodkind's books.
