I remember this being my least favorite book in this series, which isn't a surprise 'cause the second one usually is. I'm just not interested in Celaena's time in this castle or that interested in Nehemia. I find both Dorian and Chaol boring in these first two and can't wait for their story-lines in the later book. Besides, all my favorite characters come in the other books.

“But death was her curse and her gift, and death had been her good friend these long, long years.”
This book has so many beautiful, precious moments, right before everything is horrible and sad. The action scenes are written so well and vividly. I’ve always loved the development of Celaena and Dorian’s friendship throughout the first two books, and what it turns into in the following ones. We love our magical book nerds. I just really really love rereading these books.

It was a great sequel. Full of plot twists but didn't seem redundant at all. Great book.
