I really liked this book. It wasn't one I'd gush about but it was a good read. I enjoyed the male character pov and the flavor of a new place, they really made the setting into a character of the book. I liked that. I've never been anywhere that has such history and it was interesting to see how the history of the town defined the people who lived there. ...more

Sometimes, I am just not in the mood for irresponsible teenagers. Initially, I liked the boy POV, but after so many words, I did get tired of listening. The beginning of the book reminded me of Bella arriving at Forks except everyone avoids poor Lena.

Abandoned after 2 books. Life is just too short.

I have a confession. I kind of sort of enjoyed this book. It was a guilty pleasure of mine that I devoured in minutes. Okay, not minutes but it was quick.

I found the setting different, the characters intriguing (note: intriguing not great), and just the idea of the plot interesting.

However, as with all teen romance/urban fantasies this book made me laugh out loud till I cried. Maybe one of the reasons I loved it so much. Here is just an overview of some of the highlights:

1. A guy's point of vi

Very good. Would highly recommend. Can't wait for the movie!

After finishing the series, there are a few things that aren't tidied up the way I like, questions left unanswered. Overall, I'm glad I read them, and I really enjoyed the characters. I would even say the way they finished the series was good - possibly more likable than the ending of the Twilight Saga. But, like Twilight, they left a few stones unturned, which is a personal pet peeve of mine. I like to know exactly how things go for ev

I mentioned on one of my status updates that I had a love/hate relationship with this book & that continued all the way through.
What I did love was the idea & the fact that unlike many YA books I've read it was told from a male perspective. Unfortunately for me, there seemed to be huge gaps between some of the action - I didn't even start to really get into the book until about 70 pages in - & felt these parts could have been halved.
I have nothing against long books, in fact I love them but I'm

This was an addictive book from beginning to end. I really enjoyed the use of Ethan as the narrator. It was nice to get the guy's perspective from beginning to end, without it being over-the-top and not sounding right.

The story line is interesting, but mostly, it was the characters of Ethan and Lena and there relationship that drew me in.

Hope to start the next book in the series soon.
