Where to begin with this review? I'm not even sure because in all honesty I don't know what to say about it. I know many people on here enjoyed and liked this fairytale retelling of the story, but I have to be honest I wasn't one of them, which very disappointing to me. I was just expecting so much more than what I got as I was reading it and found it at times eye roll worthy with just some of the goings on in the book and the development with the characters, etc. And it was really a s ...more

As the year comes to a close, I have decided to participate in a New Years Read-a-thon and see how many books I can read till I ring in the New Year. The first on the list is Kill Me Softly by Sarah Cross.
Are you a fan of fairytales? Love reading the modern and contemporary renditions of the tales? This one took me a while to get through I'll be honest. It wasn't exactly bad, but nothing really happens in this book. Pretty much it's just all the characters meeting in different places and talking or partying. The Cursed idea was cool but was done in a kind of half-hazard way so that none of it is really believable.

The one redeeming factor of Kill Me Softly is that the dialogue between the characters is so well done that it makes up for a lot of the boring plotlessness of the rest of the boo ...more

I really liked this book. It started a bit slow for me, but got better and better as it went along. I loved the fairy tale aspect of the book. It's a nice reminder that fairy tales aren't like the Disney movies, all with happy endings. They're dark and full of evil.
