Even though I'm a sports guy, I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy this book. It turned out to be really interesting. What I found the most fascinating was the evolution of the network, from a tiny upstart that everyone made fun of, to a worldwide phenomenon. It includes first person interviews with hundreds of people involved in the evolution of ESPN, from the folks who came up with the concept of a 24 hour sports network in 1979, up to those working at ESPN right now. It was pretty long, and the closer it got to the present day, the less interesting it became, but I still really enjoyed it overall.
