I held off reading this as I thought it was just a paranormal romance aka twilight - starcrossed lovers a human and an otherworlder meet by happenstance and have to fight for their love. Been there done that. Yet this book is so much more. Although no new Harry Potter it reminds me more of that than Twilight or any of the paranormal romances. I was so stinking ready to gobble this up like I did Hunger Games, but it just didn't happen for me. I listened to it and audio really is a different animal. I wish this book was not in 3rd person. The author has so many Cleary's and Jace's and first names of the characters at the beginning of every sentence that the writing gets so tedious in the audio version. You can't start every sentence with the name of a character - it gets so lame going back and forth from one name to the other. More tra ...more

I read this August 07 post Deathly Hallows withdrawl. Then I got the audio and listened to it at work. These are good books. Cassandra Clare was a hugh HP fan and wrote HP fanfic. Her original stuff is fabulous. Good sequel books like these always leave you wanting more. She has a blog started on her myspace page wanting people's feed back. Why did I wait so long to start this series? Amazing! So everyone else in the YA world has already read this so I don't need to let you know what it's about. You've already been informed! Right? But, wow! Ahhh! I'm sorry, I loved this book, and I'm certain Jace is my 2nd husband. Can you tell I LOVED it?
