5/18/19: Well, I decided to give this another go since it fit the challenge and S.E. Jakes seems to be getting back to writing, which hopefully means she’ll actually finish up this series. This was just as good and smokin’ hot as the first time around. Her writing didn’t feel as frenetic as it did when I tried to reread the Prophet and Tommy books. This was a sexy thrilling read. Although, I was a little confused about the characters involved at the beginning, I ended up enjoying the story.

First off, I don't think you should even try to read this book without having read Catch a Ghost since the events in the two books are so intertwined.
Mal and Cillian dance around each other throughout this novella and, while it was some hot dirty talk, I have to admit that it was starting to wear on me a bit, since most of it is online. But the ending? Yes it is a cliffhanger and I am firmly sucked in. Something I didn't see coming and left me hanging, wanting more.

Okay now I've read this and I'm torn.
On the one hand, I loved it. Come on, it's SE Jakes, it's Cillian (secretive, sexy, onmiscient, ruthless, daring) and Mal (mysterious, mute, omnipotent, tall, dark, wicked) and it has Prophet showing up now and then, what's not to love? SE Jakes's books are always mainly about hard, manly men and their way toward each other, she's the master of erotic tension and she writes sex like nobody's business. There IS plot,too, but...yeah. That's the other hand.

I highly recommend you read the 2 books from Hell of Highwater series before reading this book.
DD is a spin off series....and there is a huge background story from the original series that will help the reader immensely. This author has a fabulous way with writing the twists and turns and covert maneuvers and this book is covered in them so having that foundation is necessary to keep track of it all.
Now onto the hotness that is Cillian and Mal. Both Military operatives that are smart, witty and ...more
