I'm really conflicted on this book. I debated giving it a 1 or a 2, because after just finishing it, I feel pretty sour against it, but the writing was good and I did enjoy reading it, mostly.
Here are my major concerns:
I'm not into the BDSM scene, but I think I am fairly well educated on it. I felt like a LOT of it went wrong in this book, and it was only highlighted in the ending. THe big missing factor was communication, and its absence made this whole thing feel really unsafe. I get that Bran ...more

I am...speechless.
First, this is the closest to an 'explanation' of BDSM lifestyles that I have seen in fiction. They are called 'sadists' and 'submissive' for a reason. Many works gloss over that part and make it part of the romance, part of the pretend. There are walls to breach for everyone who wants a place in this world and, honestly, most people will never understand.
