With a name like Blake St. Blake, how the hell can I not love this cute and funny story. Blake the demon slayer out on his first mission to rid the world of evil, with his well practiced lines and sword skills (not that sword, get your mind out of the gutter). He is also the chosen one, destined to save the world, but first he has to figure out this whole demon-slaying thing.

When an acid spitting demon shows up at the cemetery, he is patrolling. Blake is ready to put his skills to the test. Just

Storm Grant is an author known for nicely blending humor and romance and in her upcoming release Few Are Chosen that blend continues to be perfect. This may be a short story but it's long on entertaining characters, witty dialogue, humor, and fast-paced action. From start to finish the reader is drawn in and on the edge of their seat to see if our heroes succeed.

For Blake St. Blake life is all about training and trying to live up to being the "Chosen One". He visualizes himself as a character fr

Few Are Chosen is a delightfully campy homage to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the m-m romance genre. This novelette was a fun, quick read with plenty of humor and teenage angst. While the story line of Few Are Chosen was pretty predictable, the writing was enjoyably quirky.

If you're not into the blunt, matter-of-fact writing that is typical of the parody genre, don't read this book. If, however, you are a fan of parody, Buffy and the m-m romance genre, you'll likely enjoy this quick read and hop

I was kind of disappointed with this story. I could see the potential for humour and what the author was trying to achieve but it felt to stilted and hurried to me.

I think it would of benefited from a few more rewrites or a dedicated beta reader team.

I love the concept but it fell flat for me.

This was a fast and cute story with a lot of humor. It made me chuckle many times because the narrator, Blake, is so caught up in the moment that he constantly misses the big picture. What I liked is that I never knew how seriously I should take what was going on with Blake, especially his enhanced powers. His meeting with Shadow, who is his opposite in many things, unsettles him, takes away his conviction he is special and unique, and it sparkles a little rebellion. With insecurity comes also a ...more

Sure, this might seem like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but Storm Grant makes the concept fresh and very, very funny. Loved it.

This was a cute, short, VERY humorous read about teenagers: the whole eye-rolling, know-it-all, "I can do it myself already. Just how old are you? Thirty-five?" experience, with a fantasy twist. I was grinning and laughing the whole way through this one. ...more
