The first part of the novel was super intense, super hot and really, really interesting. And than the story screeched to a halt half way through and never really recovered completely. Once Mahir/Saeed and Ridley knew (view spoiler), things went from exciting to TSTL territory too often for me to really start caring for the characters completely again. I don't know what bothered me more - their reckless behavior in Ridley's office or "that's the only thi

As I read this one, I wavered back and forth a bit on how'd I'd rate it. Sometimes I thought... 3, other times... 4. In the end, I settled on the 4-ish end of things.
All and all, I liked it. It was a good read, well written, well rounded characters, and all that kind of jazz. I have to say, if I were to be honest, Mahir... not my favorite cop character. Not real smart for an undercover. Then I'd remember this was his first assignment (if I remember right), so maybe that was ok. But I still just ...more

First and foremost, kudos to these two authors for always bringing forth intriguing and thought-provoking stories with complex characters. Haven't read a book from them that I haven't loved.
With an intriguing plot that had me tapping the hell out of my tablet, I found myself riveted to this story. I love the type of story I can sink my teeth into and this one did not disappoint. Hell, I was so into it that I ranted whenever I got interrupted (see my rant here).

Halfway through - oh wow.
And now it's done and I'm sorry. I wanted to carry on reading and see more undercover edginess and occasional stolen tender moments slotted into a mind blowing plot.
But that tells you more about me than the book.
Mahir/Saeed - two linked but separate characters - are stupendous. I loved the way one eased into the other and Mahir's occasional moments of confusion as he found himself reacting as Saeed under Mahir circumstances. Aleks told me that everyone loved Ridley and ...more
