This book is huge! I will confess I listened to David Clarke read this on Librivox and loved his English accent. I did enjoy this book, but it does get confusing with all of the Count's identies and remembering who exactly did what to him in his seeking revenge. It is an epic novel that follows a man wrongfully accused of a crime he did not commit, to his escape, revenge, and finally happiness. I was able to follow Edmund's journey though his different stages in life and found it to be somewhat

It is interesting to see Edmond keep up the act of being someone completely different from who he is because it shows how after you have kept up multiple lies, you don't remember most of the details. He created a whole new character.
