Reread audio book 02/07/17 didn't care for the narrator on this book liked the other one but still a good read and a great series
I liked this book. I liked the fact that the characters grew and redemption is always possible wether vampire, sorcess or angels. I can't wait for the next one. ...more

I enjoyed this book much more, in part because maybe it was a bit smaller than the last, in other parts because we had less goose chase, less Mallory, less of other things and more Ethan.
This is a continuation of the story from Drink Deep, as it never resolved, but this one has a resolution to that story, but there will most certainly be a new one.

In book six of the Chicagoland Vampires series, twenty-eight-year old vampire Merit is on the hunt, tailing a rogue supernatural intent on stealing an ancient artifact that could leash catastrophic evil on the world. But, as she soon discovers, she is also the prey: an enemy of Chicagoland is hunting her, and he'll stop at nothing to get his hands on the artifact.

First Ethan is Back with some weird black magic. I mean, did the author felt pressured from readers? Second: too many supernaturals mixing to what purpose? Building suspense, intrigue or just desperately trying to do something? It doesn't work, the result is just the opposite.
I am not sure why I keep on reading and hoping it will get better? I think I'm done. It is too forced, too unrealistic, just not for me I guess.

Alright! This is more what I expected from this series.
(and narrator switch to Sophie Eastlake certainly helped)
