4 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - A solid installment in a fantastic series - this novel appears to serve as a bridge with the culmination of major plot and character developments that auger the future of the series.

Book six in Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampires series - Biting Cold picks up directly after the cliffhanger ending of its predecessor Drink Deep. This series is not a standalone read and if you read them out of sequence you will be highly disappointed by some major spoilers, be unsure of some of the characte

Biting Cold is the sixth instalment of the Chicagoland Vampires a series which has lost its way a little from the brilliant beginning.
At the start of Biting Cold the cliffhanger concerning Ethan has been sort of resolved and the clean up of Mallory's big magic mistake takes centre field. We finally find out the secret of Mayor Seth Tate, how Mallory has worsened the situation and how the Gang has to work together to defeat the resulting big baddie. Along the way relationships have to be mended a

I'm one of those who love/hate this series. As I'm reading I wonder why the heck I'm reading this drivel again but by the end of the book I'm invested once again. I have serious issues with the whole Merit/Ethan relationship. I'm sick and tired of Ethan's stalling and it's too dangerous to be together BS. This plotline has been used to death and nothing good has come from it yet. Ethan is back from the dead and still nothing. WTH? There are so many other fine guys in Chicago - Jonah for one - so ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest installment of the Chicagoland Vampires series and thought it moved on perfectly from where Drink Deep left me completely dumb founded.

Spoilers alert!

Ethan is back! Merit is happy once again and the attraction between them both is still as strong as ever. But the course of true love never runs smoothly does it?

Mallory has escaped from her sorceress' confinement and is intent on finding and using the Maleficium, the magic book full of evil. Merit and Ethan have

First of all I want to say, FINALLY, Ethan makes the right decision when it comes to his relationship with Merit.

It didn't come easily though, so I spent most of he book wishing that she would just tell him to kick rocks, but by the end I was okay.

I was afraid that he whole story with Seth was going to make no sense, but once the explanations were given it explained away the doubts I was having about that story line.

I do feel as though sometimes bitchy best friend, should be relegated to bein

The second half of this book was intense, sexy, and nail biting. It definitely made up for the first half.
I love Ethan and Merit; they're right up there with my all time favorite couples.
Merit once again is out to save the day. She's smart and strong and she has Ethan by her side. How could she lose.
There's alot going on and Ms. Neill has so many ways she can go with the future installments.
Ethan is hotter than ever and sweet to boot. Wasn't sure what he was up to; which scared the hell out me.

Really like the characters, but enough with the back and forth between Ethen & Merit. It's been going on for so much it became annoying. Finally they got together to stay. This book starts with Ethen & Merit headed out west, then a confrontation with Tate. Great scene. Then they finally get to their destination and some issues with Mallory happen, with some new friends helping. Then some interesting twists, and they head back to Chicago. The rest of the book takes place in Chicago. Some unsettli ...more

BTW, spoilers for previous books in the series...

So Ethan is back and he and Merit are chasing Mallory in Nebraska. I couldn't believe Ethan came up with another excuse, poor Merit. I like the characters and was happy to see that (view spoiler). I looking forward to seeing what changes the decision at the end lead to, it should be pretty interesting.

Well, that was an awesome book. It didn't leave you with a cliffhanger but it did leave me wondering would there be more after it. Is this the last book in the series. I hope not. This series has plenty more life left in it. ...more
