Clary Fray is part of Shadowhunter world inspite of her mother's wishes. Clary tries to understand her role in this new and terrifying world. I’m the first to admit I wasn’t a huge Mortal Instruments fan. I read the first book and hated the first half, but loved the second half. Still, I never had the desire to continue on with the series. I felt the heroine was very immature in the books and I didn’t like that.

I have to say, this is one of the first times I’ve actually liked the movie better than a book. The movie also reignited my interest in the series. I found the actress who played Clary in the movie didn’t come off as ...more

Shelves: ya-fantasy, hearts-and-tears-challenge

This story wasn't as good as the first book.. It was boring and stretched out way to far. There were times I just wanted to put it down and go to something else. It seems like some authors when they write a series it ruins the story because they have to stretch it so far to get the number of words or pages that they need to make a series. The best part of the book was the last two chapters and that's probably only because she wants to lead you into the next book. This is my daughters book so if ...more
