This is probably the second time such a thing has happened to me - where I loved one of the books written by an author while I found another book of his boring and yawn inducing. I loved 2001:A space odyssey so much that I had high expectations from this book. But the story was moving at such a slow pace. The starting was interesting with these alien spaceships above cities (idea which Independence Day movie took from this book I heard).
