I attempted reading this book some 6 yrs back and ended up DNFing as I didn’t find it interesting enough. This time I really wanted to finish the book to see what the hype was all about. It took like 90+ pages for the story to become interesting. I wasn’t a fan of the artwork. It was quite difficult to understand the story. I am not that impressed with the story either. I can see I have 11 more volumes to get, because this was awesome! The Sandman himself is a great character - exactly what you expect one of his ilk to be. Not a hero exactly, but with a morality of his own. Then there are all the other characters drawn from mythology and the wider DC Universe. Some really interesting spins there, but the best of them all has to be Dream's big sister, Death. The stories are written in a variety of styles too. This is definitely for adults - quite dark and pretty
