This is a classic of science fiction and is still incredibly relevant and readable today. I started this book trying not to expect too much, there’s been a lot of discussion and evolution in our thinking about gender since the 1960s, but aside from the fact that I question whether Le Guin would have chosen to use he as the preferred pronoun were she writing this book today a lot of the questions this book deals with and the ways in which the author chooses to deal with those questions feels much ...more
