This is my first book by Kresley Cole and a lovely introduction into the Immortals After Dark world. A lot of things to take in from the demons to ghouls to Valkyries and vampires. I'm definitely intrigued especially if each book has intense and complex characters with the off the charts chemistry as the two in this book. ...more

What a wonderful book and start to a series! I've read one other book in this series (sigh..out of order!) which made me go back to the beginning. And I'm so glad I did. I love, love, love Nikolai!!! Novellas are usually great to add details to a series or give you a different perspective and I think I would have rated this on higher, if I had read some of the series first. Now, that being said...it was a good story! There is just so much information in there I felt like I needed to take notes.

I think this may be my first book encounter with a Valkyrie (not that I've had an actual encounter, but I was introduced to one as a main character in "Lost Girl"). I liked
