Once again I ventured into the paranormal romance genre and I think I have to conclude that I don't like it as much as historical or contemporary romances. And I can't understand why. I mean, I love Lord of the Rings and fantasy. I think I have some trouble with the "one mate" mystic for werewolves. It's not actually a love story - it just is. And although the end was so fantastic in this book, I was really irritated at Emma for a long time. But as paranormal romances go - it was one of the best

Review:
A Hunger Like No Other, is the story about Lachlain and Emmaline. Lachlain (King of Lykae clan) has been a prisoner and tortured by the Vampire horde for more than a century, when one day he scents her mate above the catacombs.
Meanwhile, Emmaline (Half vampire/half Valkyrie) is in Paris looking for answers about her parents, when suddenly she's tracked down by Lachlain. Lachlain has a hard time coming to terms with the fact that his predestined mate is part of a creature who has tortured ...more

For some time now i have this serie in my shelf TBR, and i don't know but for some reason i never give it a try (Shame on me)
I love the concept of this serie, the lore and all the Magical creatures in it. In the beginning was a little difficult for me to catch all the details of this World but i think in The end of the book i have already a pretty good idea about the plot.

1 star. Fuck. No. I'm tired of the trend of the "hero" having consent problems against the heroine. Am I supposed to swoon when he touches her and tries to rape her? I don't understand. So much sexual assault and none of it was okay. I will not be continuing on with this series.

The narrator did an excellent job in portraying emotions from both Lachlain and Emmaline. The world building in this series is slow, and I hope that the pace does pick up in the upcoming installments. Lachlain is predestined to have Emma as his mate. The only problem is that he loathes her ...more
