This has an interesting plot of being told in stories by different Native Americans who live in Oakland all, for their personal reasons, are planning to attend a Pow Wow. It was very slow in the beginning, typical of any novelist setting up the plot, characters, etc. The pace does pick up and became a little more enjoyable.
