This a beautiful and poignant story about friendship In a time of war. It made me laugh and it made me cry. The female protagonists are so incredibly rich and fascinating and the pacing of the story was well done.

I didn't love this one, not sure why, although I kept getting confused and lost b/c the detail is so in depth that you have to give it 100% of your attention. I don't hate the end, I'm satisfied with this ending. Actually the last 50 pages were the best part. I think the author did a fabulous job of writing this story, but I'm not a war time person. Too much pain, suffering, double agent confusion, and just sad torture. I get why some people loved this, but I didn't, I did like it though. ...more
