I'm a huge fan of Nora Roberts. Really, she is my number one for romantic suspense and definitely one of my favorite writers ever. Well, I admit that some of her books are not as good as the others, but still, most of them are great fun. To me, she is the queen of stand-alone romantic suspense, and The Witness is one of the best examples.

I'd give this 4.5 stars, if I could. This book, as with all Roberts' books, grabbed my attention from the first moment and kept me turning pages until the end. It has been a long time since I've read something by Roberts that isn't an In Death book or paranormal. I really enjoyed this story. You can't help but root for Liz/Abigail. And Brooks is amazing. You've got to love a caring cop who makes sure justice is done. The small town is charming except for a few snakes who get what is coming to them. The only thing that would have made it better is more of an epilogue. I wanted to see more of Ilya getting his due.
