This book is about a College Student named Richard who moves from California to go to school in Vermont to get as far as possible away from his unbelievably cold and uncaring parents. Once there he enrolls in a small and elite Greek Class that will forever change his life.

Going into the book by reading the back, this was not the kind of book I expected. I thought this was one of those books all about college kids traveling around the world learning about the renaissance rather than about the cover up of a murder. Overall this is a good book that become just one of those books about a group of rich kids in private school that thought their parents money would protect them from everything seen from the eyes of a outsider.
First and foremost, my cat died while I was reading this book… I just wanted to say, I miss you little Filzi, I really do. The way you died was so traumatising. :'(
If you read this, hug and cuddle your pets for me, please.
I had such high hopes for this book and I am not entirely happy about it.

Dark Academia at its finest because The Secret History is the granddaddy of Dark Academia, one of my absolute favorite genres. Yes, it’s a little long at about 560 pages, and sure, it could have been a little shorter, but it’s absolutely unputdownable, if I can make up a word.
You’ll find out in the first sentences that the characters have killed their friend, Bunny. From there on, you have to find out how and why and when you do, your mouth will drop. Mine did. So well-written with character de ...more

I went into this book with no expectations and still have no idea what to say.
It was certainly not an enjoyable read, the description and the introduction were enough to make it clear that it could never be truly enjoyable but it was a flawless read.
Enough was revealed to the reader while still leaving us guessing. There were a few points where I exclaimed out loud "Why didn't I think of THAT?!?"
