I have . . . mixed feelings for this one. While it adds a teeny tiny little bit to the story, it seems kind of pointless. We already could tell kinda how the Flare happened, didn’t take much. Didn’t add a lot of answers to the trilogy, not that we needed many. If a sequel came out for it (not The Fever Code, that doesn’t count in my opinion) I might read it if it helped, but this really doesn’t.
Overall, if you want to read it, go ahead. I read it once and probably won’t pick it up again.

3.5 stars. This was a really good book to explain how the flare came around but I didn’t really get attached to the characters. I liked the parallels at the very beginning and very end of the book. It took me a very long time to get into.
