Perhaps no other work makes me think more about jury duty than when I see the film adaptation of Twelve Angry Men playing. Reginald Rose’s Twelve Angry Men is a short, powerful, tense drama that delves into the legal and justice system, but I think it also encompasses and digs into much more than that. Reginald Rose's Twelve Angry Men is, by itself, a five star play. I have yet to hear or see a bad version of it performed. And this version by LA Theatre Works doesn't disappoint.

The casting is strong, the performances are convincing, and the soundscape created by the stage effects and the audience watching the show is excellent. Moreover, there is a fantastic interview with Rose's widow, Ellen McLaughlin, who offers fascinating insights into Rose's creative process and how Twelve Angry Men cam

I am currently in rehearsal to play Juror #10 in a staged-reading version of the "co-ed" 12 Angry Jurors. In high school, I had played Juror #8 in a school production of 12 Angry Women. I am greatly enjoying studying the play from a new vantage point and actually prefer playing the more nuanced colors offered in playing Juror #10. EXCELLENT play and movie. This should be required reading in high school. It would be so fun to teach.
