I am 56 years old and although I have always known the name Machiavelli and had a simplistic idea of what it means to say that something is Machiavellian, I had never read anything he had written or studied anything about his life, so I am very glad to cross this 16th century classic off my to-read list. A classic that should be read by all. I enjoyed the readings of classical literature and wish I had been acquainted with this one sooner. I need to understand more about the time periods history and recommend future readers to spend the time, as I did not. I now know why so many future authors have quoted the Prince.
This book was so outstanding. Niccolo Machiavelli was a genius; his concise insightful strategies on the predictability of human nature are absolutely enthralling. It's not hard to see that the human psychology really didn't change over time, so Machiavelli's principals work just as well now as it did then.
