TEARJERKER
I think this story is well written with memorable characters and memorable scenes. The ending, in my opinion, happened a little too abruptly and George didn't show enough emotion. Those were my two main problems. Other than that, I can see why it's a classic.
I like the way Steinbeck compares animals and humans, especially with Lennie. He's compared to a dog at some points and even a bear. This helps the reader to sympathize with him a little and see how many of the characters see him - as a sec ...more

Steinbeck definitely knows how to tell a good story but I just couldn’t escape a feeling that he's over-simplifying his characters.
