Shared the audio version with my children and we enjoyed it together. Can't wait till they venture to read the physical book on their own and we read the rest in the series. I see us returning to Bilbo Baggins and his journey again soon.

My most beloved childhood book. The only competition was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Both my mother read to me. But this book was what really catapulted my love not only of books but of good quality literature in my early teens. As a girl it did not remotely bother me that there are zero female characters in this marvelous book. I cared not for the genders but the admirable, honest, flawed, heroic character traits of my imaginary but visible friends provided by Mr Tolkien. I loved Gand
