What Members Thought
I'm often reluctant to re-read books, especially those I loved the first time round. Will they stand up to time, to my older, sometimes wiser mind? Still, these are uncertain and worrisome days, and I crave familiarity. There is this urge to meet some of my favourites characters again.
I shouldn't have worried with Alias Grace. Atwood is masterful at creating atmosphere and setting, and just like when I first read it 17 years ago, I could feel the brooding summer heat rise off the pages.

There are not a lot of authors out there who can keep me engaged throughout a 550+ page book that has basically no plot, but Atwood is not like most authors. I found myself reading slower near the end because I didn't want to finish.
