Sarah, Joe, Will, and Amy are ready to have fun as they begin their camping trip at Silver Lake. After taking a swim they decided to explore the island, finding a raft they headed in that direction. As they were leaving Sarah spotted a woman coming out of the woods towards them. Seeing her wave, the kids went back and the woman claimed that she needed their help to hide because she was being chased by spies that wanted to kidnap her. It was decided that Will would take her over to the island while the rest watched out for the men. Shortly later two men showed up asking if they had seen a woman, and that she was wanted by the police.

After the men left, she asked them to help her get back to her house. Because the kids recognized the woman, Emma Dawson, from a photo that they had seen in a newspaper article about a colleague of hers that had been killed in a plane crash. The kids agreed to help her, but when they finally arrived, they found that the police were already there. Emma told the kids that she had a friend that would help her if she could get to Kellick Cove. Will suggested that he could call his father and have him pick them up early and drop Emma at Kellick Cove on the way back home. It was late so Emma stayed with the kids. Early next morning Will and Joe walked into the village to phone Mr. Spencer to ask him to come and get them. Will explained everything and his dad said that he believed that Emma was in trouble, and he would come to get them right away.

When Mr. Spencer arrived, they loaded up and headed to Kellick Cove, on the way Emma told him what had happened. They dropped her off at her friend’s house but before they left Mr. Spencer gave her his phone number. Late that afternoon the phone rang, when Will answered he found that it was Emma. She explained that her friend’s friend could not help them, and wondered if they knew of anyone that could help her get to France because her boss was vacationing there, and she knew he was the only one that could clear her name. Will told her that he did know someone that had a boat and might take them, so they agreed that she would call back later, and he would ask. After telling the other kids, they left to see if Quigley would make the trip. After they explained everything to him, he hardily agreed.

What did I like? I have seen growth in Paul’s writing over the past few years, but I think that this is the best storyline that he has written. I know that it takes incredible talent to do is “Interaction Books”, but this particular book shows more than growth, it shows the ability to become his characters, and project their feelings to the reader. I am proud of his accomplishment and hope you will find his books as interesting as I do. I know that my grandchildren do, but then they may be a little bias because of my reviews.

What will you like? Interesting, exciting, mysterious, stimulating, thrilling, intriguing, and sensational. Well, those are just a few adjectives that describe the action that is in this storyline, the plot has more twists than a country back road. The characters are unique and interesting, with a few from other books dropping in and making a scary appearance. The villains will keep you hopping, and the good guys are amazing. The kids just can’t keep away from trouble no matter how much they just want to enjoy themselves, camping, swimming, and exploring, with a healthy dose of mystery/intrigue to keep the ball rolling. An exceptional read from Paul Moxham in book 14 of the Mystery Series, “The Mystery of Crocodile Island” will be available on June 27, 2021.
