That was intense! This book started with a bang and never let up. I was completely engrossed in Penryn and Raffe's adventures. I am a huge fan of all the "evil angel" books out there, and this one mixed with a touch of post-apocalyptic/Walking Dead was just spectacular. I was so anxious to find out whether Penryn would find her sister that au could barely read fast enough! Terrific, captivating story with believable characters and a fully developed setting. Shelves: favorites, next-to-read, young-adult, urban-fantasy

I don't read very much YA literature. As a fan of adult genre fiction, I find much of the category to poorly done. I've read the Hunger Games, a book which obviously shares much in common with Angelfall. And yet that book rated only middling well for me, but I loved Angelfall!

I'm a big fan of angel stories. I've always thought they were creepy, and I like the way it subverts common perception in our society. So the plotline of this seemed meant for me, as we have a destroyed Earth, laid to waste ...more

What I most liked about this book was the fact that the female head character was strong and not broken like so many female lead characters are written these days. She's dithery and definitely a teenager, but she's not broken, and that was a nice change of pace to read.

This was okay, but after all the web hype, I was really expecting something incredible. I didn't think the character of Raffe was all that great, and I wasn't really sold on the chemistry between Penryn and him. The book was captivating, though, but also very long. And near the end of the book, it got very ... weird. ...more
