The year 2014 should have been a banner one for humanity with cures for the common cold and cancer hitting the market. But then something went terribly wrong as the two cures worked together to create a virus that turns human beings into zombies, bringing on the zombie apocalypse.

"Everything is 'just a story.' Tragedy, comedy, end of the world, whatever, it's just a story. What matters is making sure it's heard."
I'm so glad I finally got my hands on a copy of this first book. It's a wonderful look at journalism and end times - all in the hands of zombies. I loved the history and interesting information about the spread of the disease, how it all worked and the history. There was world building to help you understand but not so much that you got lost. This book is just too cool for words - I love the double entendre of the title, with the book's dual emphasis on zombie apocalypse and news media. Add presidential politics, espionage, religious fanatics, and naming your kids after George Romero, and this is a definte recipe for a rolicking good time. I'm very, very glad I found this book!
