This story was just a okay story to me with Audrey being a girl that love science and medicine. She sees herself working with the dead with her uncle. But being a lady that is frown upon in her time. She's to sew and knit with girls her age and gossip. But she doesn't want to do that. So why working with her uncle she is determined to find out who Jack the Ripper really is. This was an intriguing take on the Jack the Ripper murders that haunted London for so long. Although, I had the killer pegged before the halfway point.

I just can't do it. I tried so hard to read this, and I hate every bit of it. The main character is the worst. She's the best feminist you'll ever meet. I mean, she's so much better than any other girl there is. She doesn't like doing that yucky girly stuff, she wants to be like her uncle and do (what was considered at the time) a man's job. But of course she still likes to wear dresses and wear makeup (because we have to check the box of not hating on women TOO much). But she does it so much be ...more

I loved this book. I've always been obsessed with Jack the ripper and how he was never found and having this story be so wrapped up in true facts from those months of terror was gripping. Loved the pace of the story and enjoyed it a lot. Can't wait to read the second one!! ...more

I hated this book so much. If not for an adequate ending I would have given this book only 1 star but the ending elevated the rating slightly.
