It's interesting to read this after reading books like As Simple as Snow, Thirteen Reasons Why, and The Tragedy Paper. All deal with teenage boys trying to figure out where they fit in and then along comes an amazing girl. And that takes some of the punch out of this book, except that this one came first. Miles Halter is the stereotypical boy who doesn't fit in. The opening scene in which his parents throw him a going away party before he leaves for boarding school and only two kids show up is a ...more
