What Members Thought
Ok, I think I'm a minority here. I started this novel 3 times. And I don't do that- if I can't get into read, I dnf. But, great reviews made me reconsider my first impressions and try again. ....

What was problem for me:
Reason #1 - I didn't like Jack. He irked me to no end.
Let me demonstrate:
(This is all happening after shootout where D was hit in shoulder followed by 3 hours long ride)D is pale and clammy.Jack is a doctor, so he puts hand on D's forehead and determines that D has a fever. ...more

What stood out this time was D's speech. The way he spoke. Was it meant as accent/dialect? I'm not sure. It just stood out.
The story was still interesting, but this book felt like a long book.
I'm not going to change my original rating. it was good, but it could have been better. ...more

I've put out reading this book as it doesn't seem like the series will ever continue, let alone finish. But I needed me some angsty loving, so I picked it up. Well it was as good as the reviews, which makes it double as bad that there isn't a sequel.
