Set "in the very near future" this plot felt so very real as it focuses on situations that are very similar to things that are currently happening worldwide. Apart from an unbelievable romance between a president of the USA and his bodyguard - which, on its own, would make anybody roll their eyes - I actually enjoyed it. I might even surprise myself and read a sequel when it comes out.

An interesting book and quite bold. I enjoyed reading it, even if I had to suspend belief at certain places. It worked. I thought that altough it was set in an alternative timeline, it did give lot of food for thoughts. Though I do know that I would not like to live in that version of world.
It was kinda weird to read it after everything that happened in 2016. :D Very bizarre.

Will say, at times I found the outsider POV to be distracting/superfluous, and it is a bit long, though I was engaged enough the the words really did fly by. ...more
