Josh Lanyon. I love you! Somehow your books always find the shortcut to my heart. And this particular one is my favorite. I admired everything about it, the mystery, romance, the setting, the characters and the fairytale twist to it, too. I think it was truly magical. I'm utterly overwhelmed!

Reading Stranger on the Shore is like meeting an old friend after a long time. This is classic Josh in a subgenre he does best.
Twenty years old mystery, rich people problems, nod to The Great Gatsby and a slow-developing romance between a journalist and a pushing lawyer.
I chucked half a star off only because I figured main plot far too soon. There were too many clues dropped at the beginning and I think it considerably downplayed the big reveal...
It's so good to have you back, Josh. :) ...more
Another thoroughly captivating, kept-me-up-reading-all-night story by Josh Lanyon. The story being told in Griff's POV really worked for me, I really connected with him, and reveled in experiencing everything through his eyes, and having access to his impressions of everyone he met. Griff and Pierce made for deliciously intriguing main characters, both having their demons and past hurts to deal with, a past Pierce was so reluctant for Griff to open again..but which he eventually benefited from.

After one book, I am a committed Josh Lanyon fan. This story turned me inside out, upside down, and every which way but loose. Mr. Lanyon plays the heartstrings with the skill of a master harpist. This story has everything--and even for readers uninterested in m/m romance, the deep levels of emotions, the twisting multiple mysteries, and the protagonist's "class issues" are all riveting. I consider STRANGER ON THE SHORE a not-to-be-missed story.

This one really worked for me. There was no ocelot, but still a solid read. Was the "who" ever really a question here?? I don't think it was meant to be. I like the how and the why parts of this mystery and how everyone and everything tied together.
