Tempt the Stars is wow. Just wow. The book picks up a week after the previous book and it is one hell of a ride. Pritkin is in hell because he saved Cassie and she is getting him back.

That is what this book is - a rescue mission, Pythia style. And as Cassie so clearly points out, Murphy's Law does not apply to her. Even Everything that could in no way go wrong, WILL go wrong. She is the living, breathing superlative of Murphy's Law.

From her frantic search of her mother to figure out how to get Tempt the Stars is wow. Just wow. The book picks up a week after the previous book and it is one hell of a ride. Pritkin is in hell because he saved Cassie and she is getting him back.

From her frantic search of her mother to figure out how to get Pritkin to the two crazy chases through two different Hells, and not to mention all the chaos in between, the book barely stops for breath, and neither does Cassie. I absolutely loved the (view spoiler) Pritkin's decision to push Cassie outside the Council was interesting and I also liked that Cassie realized how much she has grown over the space of a few months.

It was a great plot and I had a great time reading the book. It answered quite a bit and explained a lot, but it also left so many questions unanswered and made me think of so many new ones. I was so sure I wanted the next Dorina book before the next Cassie, but now, not so much.

Interestingly, it is not Pritkin's fate that has changed my mind, though it helped. Somehow being who he is, I am sure somehow he will come out of this. But it was the Demon Council that intrigued me. After all, I love all the politics in the Dorina series. I want to know more about Cassie and Mircea. I want to see when she meets Dory and I want to know exactly why has Mircea Basarab been interested in Pythia's for so long. The only thing that Mircea has valued for that long has been his family, his daughter. Possibilities and Ramifications. I want to know more about the Pythia and the war that is coming, but it is balanced against the war that is already being waged.

I will have to just wait for the next book and be glad that I am not the one making the choice regarding which one is coming next, just that it is. ...more
