Another one of those "just one more chapter and I'll put it down" kind of books. I don't say 'one more page' to myself anymore. After 35 yrs, I know myself pretty well and I know if I say one more page I'm totally full of shit, so to be semi-honest with myself I say one more chapter. Not that I ever listen. So basically this book kicked ass. I love the characters, Falin gets my body burning, Alex is an awesome heroine and PC has made me have a fondness for chinese cresteds, the weird little semi ...more

This is the 2nd book in the series and we are still learning all about Alex Craft's world along with her.

Alex is a Grave Witch, PI, and has just learned she is part Fae, but of course hasn't mentioned "that" to anyone. Her friends include a Reaper who has been visiting her since she was little and she named Death, Caleb a Fae who is her landlord, Holly the Assistant DA who is a witch and Tamara the Chief Medical Officer for Nekros City.

It should have been better. I wanted it to be better. It's like somewhere in the period of time it took to get from the first book to this one, someone completely lost her humor. Too many times I found my self saying, out loud, in Hebrew, lighten up girl! you're taking yourself way too seriously!

Funny, I have the exact opposite reaction to Second Grave on the Left. The two books are somehow linked in my mind. All those graves :) And they are so and vice versa.

The second half was so much better.

Plus one star for original plot. Still, I don't like Alex. She is undecisive, irresponsible and doesn't think about repercussions of her actions. She does everything untimely and does not analize anything. If not for accidental luck she would never have done anything. In the real world if people do not change, then in time they run out of it. ...more

Loved it. I think it's gonna be one of my fav. series.
I still love Death more than that other guy, which by the way I say just dump his ass because really no matter how you look at it he is bound to that cold bitch queen for at least afew decades, and it's not like he can protect her if the queen tells him to kill her.
While Death on the other hand saved her life even though he is a grim reaper, and he tells her things that people shouldn't know because it will help her. Plus all the reaper-human
