I haven't read a lot of steam punk but this is definitely my favorite so far. The world was well-crafted and the steam punk elements were blended seamlessly and believably. The characters really made this book special and I can't wait to start the next one to see what trouble they get involved with.

Great first chapter, then it goes downhill for a while - and Eliza is made very unappealing: breaking priceless art out of boredom without apology, making Wellington uncomfortable with her sexual advances, basically having little to no respect for him or anyone else or their line of work for the longest time - before picking up again.
