I liked the mystery (a ghost carrying a hatchet haunting a school) and of course there was much more to the story. What I didn't like as much were the characters. I found Gilley irritating in this one. Why did he have to be such an aggravating character in this one?! Steven's use and misunderstandings of slang, certain phrases, was no longer cute or funny. It was annoying. Karen (MJ's friend) is a stereotype too and I'm so over it. I've found I have no patience for things that annoy me.

I liked this one but not as much as the first in the series. The mystery aspect is good but I don't particularly care for the romance sub-plot. I like both M.J. and Stephan apart but I don't really get any chemistry or relationship vibe from them. It's still a fun read and a fun paranormal mystery series.
