The sequel of the extremely popular The Hunger Games, Catching Fire continues the story of Katniss and Peeta, two teenagers that try to survive in a world ruled by those in the Capitol.
When they both won the Hunger Games, they defied the Capitol, and they're going to have to pay for that. Neither them or their families are safe. I can't say more about the plot without spoiling it, but expect there to be a lot of hardship. Decisions will have to be made that can either save their loved ones or se ...more

I stopped reading this book about halfway in, not sure if I wanted to continue, and I was thinking it was because it wasn't as good as the first, but that's not really the case.
For me, it was the most emotional of the three because of a few key scenes. It's the only book where I actually shed some tears. It was difficult to read because it's just so darn depressing.
By the last 80-100 pages, I was so completely engrossed in the story, it made up for any pacing issues earlier on (there was a sma ...more

*sigh* I fiished Hunger Games at 3am and told myself I would read up to ch.3 of Catching Fire just to see the ending of the first book filled out, by 4am i was on pg. 151. I decided I really was going to read this book later so I finished a library book earlier today but alas, came back to this one. I just can't put this series down! Everytime I say I'm going to stop I just can't by the time I realize I was supposed to stop something happends!!! This book was pretty good, you see more of Gale wh

This was pretty much a filler book in that nothing much was going on for more than half of the book. Had the love triangle been more interesting/convincing, the filler parts might have been less obvious. Too bad the "love triangle" is written completely for the sake of having one rather than really putting in effort to create necessary dynamics/tension in order to make it believable. Pretty much Katniss likes whoever she's currently spending quality time with ATM: So, it's Peeta when sh ...more

I wasn't sure where this trilogy was going to go. The first book is almost self-contained. Just when you think Katniss' life can't get any worse... I was shocked at some of the twists and am impatiently waiting for the last book (I'm 12th in line at the library).

The second book in the trilogy did not disappoint. It wasn't better than the first book but still a great book.
