No rating. DNF @ 32% because I just realized I have no idea what is going on & I’m over a quarter way through the audiobook. I can’t keep focus bc I do not care. Part of it due to the narrator. She sounds like a goat. She has this wavering, bleeting-like voice. I keep waiting to hear ‘Baaaahahahahah’, it’s distracting & I end up tuning her out. Not good.
Very good start to a new series. I think those who enjoy Annette Marie's Guild Codex world would enjoy this series as well.

Really enjoyed the first in series book.
Mac is a caring Merc, with younger 'siblings' to look after & feed & clothe.
Really interesting magic system, with dragons at the top, of course, and other mythical creatures, then shifters, mages & humans.
Mac and family escaped from a Government facility so she likes to keep to herself, and stay under the radar.
Looking forward to the next one, as Mac now has a partner & and interested dragon she stands up to. ...more
