This is the first book I've read in the BDB series and I'm hooked! Wrath lived up to his name in every way and the brothers really want to make me keep reading...J.R. Ward is a superb writer, and I can't wait to continue on reading this series. The imagination and set-up of the story is great, and everything is very beliveable. Wow what an amazing book Beth and Wrath unbelivable. They where awesome as a couple and the story will have you hooked to this amazinf series. If you love Vampires this is the book to read.

I saw this book long ago and though about reading it but decided no too. I have had some bad experiences with prn books...them being way to cheesy, the hot scenes making me giggle and roll my eyes, the big and strong super alpha male being way over the top and the fragile female being so damn irritating and making me want to rip her apart.
Now don't get me wrong...I lover alpha males...Kate Daniels series is one hell of proof of that and all my 5 stars are handed over every time Curran is mentio I saw this book long ago and though about reading it but decided no too. I have had some bad experiences with prn books...them being way to cheesy, the hot scenes making me giggle and roll my eyes, the big and strong super alpha male being way over the top and the fragile female being so damn irritating and making me want to rip her apart.
Now don't get me wrong...I lover alpha males...Kate Daniels series is one hell of proof of that and all my 5 stars are handed over every time Curran is mentioned :D But when the female is not strong enough in some way (does not have to be physically) to be able to stand by the male then the story has no appeal to me...it just feels like the woman is a slave and the man only has to twitch one of his muscles to make her melt and give him everything he wants and needs.
So in other words this book spelled disaster for me.
But then all my friends started hyperventilating every time they mentioned this series so I decided to try it out....just in case I am missing something.

Anyways...the super strong over the top alpha male was there in this book...and not just one...no hell no...6 of them :D
The irritating female...yes sir...and the author trying to make us believe she is extraordinary and strong and brave does not work for me unless I actually see her be that way...and her just loving Wrath and feeling protective of him is not enough...especially when I look at all the fans this series has...every single woman and guy would probably act the same way...so where does that leave her?
The cheesy sex scenes? Oh yeah! Lots and lots of those, lmao!!

So why the hell did I give it 2 stars and thought it was not so bad?
I actually don't know..but it really was not so bad.
I like the idea of this brotherhood and their bond and the way they acted towards each other, I liked the small action scenes...and hope there will be more of them in the future installments.
The females though..for crying out loud...do something about them...they seem like small frightened kittens with very little back bone.

This was between a 2.5 and 3 for me. I was good, but not amazing. Good enough to continue with the series. It was a good groundwork for the series, but nothing that blew me away. I didn't love Wrath and Beth and maybe that was my problem. I'm looking forward to Marissa and Butch's story, though. ...more
