Shelves: urban-fantasy, shifters

The second book was about the same as the first book for me. It was a little scary though in some parts. The Mercedes Thompson is so different to me because this is like the only urban fantasy series that I have read that we don't get a lot of the romance. I wish we got a little bit more of it, but at least we can see the romance blossoming somewhat.

The plot is so enthralling though. It keeps me excited. Mercy Thompson is a wonderful heroine to follow and I enjoy her quite a bit. SO we have the ...more

Too bad there isn't more romance *sulking*
I kind of both liked and disliked the thing that Sam told about his past, the one between the time Mercy left and until they met again, because it gives to his character some texture and depth and at the same time is also showed that he didn't actually love Mercy. I guess while reading I still kept hoping that he loves her and it just started as his wish to have children and enveloped. I'm not a big fan of Briggs writing, she tends to ramble too much for my taste.
I did enjoy this book, I like the plot and the characters... I don't think Mercy needed another boyfriend though, I like Adam and Samuel, adding Stefan was just too much. ...more
