★★★★½ I listened to the audiobook and it was well narrated by Lorelei King. She did the VW bus driving vampire’s, Stefan’s, voice and another vampire’s in that “I want to drink your blood…” cadence that was a bit amusing – and confusing, as they both sounded similar. Still, she did a good job overall and I like her voice as Mercy.

A great follow up to the initial book in this series. I loved how much information was given on the various paranormal aspects of this world. It was also great to see the complexity of Mercy's relationships with Adam and Sam...I'm really looking forward to seeing how that progresses! I couldn't quite give this one a five-star rating though, because is lagged a bit in some parts and the end seemed a bit forced, which is unfortunate considering how well the rest of the book came together. ...more

In this book Mercy, a shapeshifter, must help a vampire, putting herself in grave danger. Without the need for world-building (already taken care on the first installement of the series, Moon Called, this second book is more fast paced. There's aslo a small development in the love triangle that involves the main character, but nothing above PG. It's trully Urban Fantasy at its best. ...more
