This book picks off soon after the events of Firespell. Lilly and Scout are back fighting for the Enclave, dodging the popular girls and worrying about fall formal. They do have a few problems, however. The Reapers are still after Scout, a certain Reaper is mysteriously interested in Lilly, there is mysterious slime in the sewers (no I didn't make that up), and there is some sort of vampire turf war. Let me start by saying I LOVE Chole Neill! I am a huge fan of her adult series and when I saw she put out a YA series I rushed out to get the first book, I didn't LOVE it like I did her adult series but I did like it. I thought it was a lot of fun in ways her adult series couldn't be. This wasn't a OMGWTFBBQ! gotta have it the second it comes out for me but I was happy to sit down with it once I got to it. More like 3.5 stars, I liked it okay, but it was a bit YA, lots of teen drama and not much story. Quite like the main characters, and will probably try the next one.
