I liked the character relationships and the deeper development of the relationships between the characters of the first book. I particularly liked the one between Nash (the Sheriff) and Maya (the electrician). Janet and Mick's developed as well and some background about Mick is revealed.
My favorite character continues to be Coyote but the addition of Colby to the series may challenge that.

Very good addition to the Stormwalker series. Janet has more magic, Mick is to stand trial for not killing Janet, Nash and Maya are still dancing around their relationship and Coyote is still cryptic. More dragons are introduced, including Colby, who has come to help(?) Mick with his defense. Magic mirror is a hoot!! a solid 4 star read.

Threatened by dragons and warned by Coyote to never use her mother's gifts, Janet keeps being thrust into untenable situations. Use the dark gifts and upset a number of powerful beings. Or let someone die, knowing she could have prevented it. The introduction of a charac
